A beautiful garden is a work of heart and a belief in tomorrow!

The Bulverde Community Garden is located on Cougar Bend between the Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center and Bulverde City Hall.

It is open to all gardeners free of charge. We strive to be a totally organic garden and our goal is to help the residents of western Comal County lead a healthier life by growing our own organic vegetables. Some of the garden plots are dedicated to the local food pantry, Provisions, and several individuals with their own plots donate extra produce to the food pantry.

There’s nothing quite as satisfying as growing your own fresh fruit, flowers, and vegetables. If you spend most of your day sitting behind a desk, it’s a welcome change of pace to spend some time outdoors, working with your hands, and feeling physically connected to the Earth. Although a garden can be a lot of work, it more than pays for itself in tender lettuce and juicy, homegrown tomatoes that taste far superior to anything at the supermarket.

That’s the idea behind Bulverde’s Community Garden. The plots dedicated to the food pantry have produced over 2000 pounds of fresh vegetables and fruit which have been planted, tended and harvested for families in the Bulverde/Spring Branch area since the Garden’s inception in April of 2014.

USDA Plant Hardness: Zone 8

Gardeners in USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 8 enjoy a long growing season with average low winter temperatures between 10 and 20 degrees F

Fun at the Garden!
